Seems as if in a while you may be saying "I love VTEC" and people wonder if your not going to finish your sentence. That's because Honda is creating the all new "VTEC-I" and "VTEC-DI". These new motors are the next generation, boasting more HP and Torgue. Yes yes yes!!!... Oh well, i'm sure that's how we all feel. These new twisters should be hear by late next year.



Honda will be featuring a 2.0L four-cylinder DOHC-VTEC-i powerplant. So your wondering what the "i" stands for right? It's for intelligent and DI stand for Direct Injection. No no.. the engines can't think, they are just smarter and more efficient in every way. For example, remember the 2.0L VTEC-i? It combines VTEC technology with Variable Timing Control (VTC). Meaning that the cam gears will be adjustable. This will assist in low-end torque because the ECU will automatically advance or retard the engine timing for increased performance all through the RPM range!

In addition, Honda adds a variable intake manifold system. It adjusts according to the speed etc. With all this added power and torque, the Motors are still 10 percent smaller than the current 2.0L. On the other hand, the power is increased by some 20 percent while the motor will be more fuel efficient! Just one more year for all this!
